1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so that it can remember information about your visit. The BridgeBeyond Interface also relies on closely related browser storage technologies, such as "local storage", which work in a similar way. In this policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies.

Cookies allow the website to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, keep your session secure, and protect the platform from automated abuse. Some cookies are essential for the website to work; others are optional and are only used where the law and your choices permit. 2. Strictly Necessary Cookies and Storage

These are required for the BridgeBeyond Interface to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, completing registration, or navigating between pages. The BridgeBeyond Interface stores a small amount of authentication and session data in your browser for these purposes, including your access and refresh tokens, your email address, your account role, and the session state maintained by our authentication provider. These items are typically retained for the duration of your active session, or up to 30 days for persistent login tokens, after which they expire automatically or on logout.

These items are used only to keep you signed in, route you to the correct dashboard, and keep your session secure. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. If you block this storage in your browser, core features such as logging in and accessing your dashboard will not work. Where this data is processed on servers located outside India or the European Economic Area (including by our authentication provider), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Security and Bot-Protection Cookies

The BridgeBeyond Interface uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect registration and verification flows from spam and automated abuse. Google may set cookies in your browser to perform this analysis and to distinguish humans from bots. These cookies are typically valid for up to six months, in accordance with Google's own retention practices. Because Google processes this data on servers located outside India, this transfer is carried out under Google's standard contractual safeguards, as described in its Privacy Policy.

4. Functional and Attribution Cookies

When you reach the BridgeBeyond Interface through a campaign or referral link, that link may carry attribution parameters which tell us which campaign or channel referred you. So that this information is not lost if you browse to another page and return, the BridgeBeyond Interface stores these parameters in a single first-party cookie on your device for up to 30 days.

This cookie holds only the campaign attribution parameters from the link you arrived on. It is first-party and is used solely to correctly attribute your enquiry to the campaign that referred you. It does not store advertising identifiers, does not track you across other websites, and is not shared with advertising networks. You can delete it at any time through your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the website.

5. Analytics and Marketing Cookies

Aside from the first-party campaign-attribution cookie described above, the BridgeBeyond Interface does not currently use analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies, and does not track you across other websites for advertising purposes. If we introduce such cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, request your consent before they are placed on your device. If such cookies are introduced, we will present them as a separate, optional category in our cookie preference centre, and ensure they remain off by default until you affirmatively opt in.

6. Cookies and Children

The BridgeBeyond Interface may be accessed by students, including minors. For the purposes of this clause, 'child' means any individual below the age of 18 years, in accordance with Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

We do not use cookies or similar technologies to build behavioural profiles of, or serve targeted advertising to, any user we know or reasonably believe to be a child. Strictly necessary cookies described in clause 2 are used for all users, including minors, solely to enable core platform functionality such as login and session security. Where verifiable parental or guardian consent is required by applicable law for any other processing involving a minor's data, we will obtain it before that processing takes place.

7. Managing your Cookies

When you first visit the BridgeBeyond Interface, you are presented with a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies and storage are always active, as the website cannot function without them. All other cookie categories are switched off by default and are only activated if you choose to enable them.

You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. You may also withdraw or change your consent at any time by clicking "Cookie Preferences" in the footer of the BridgeBeyond Interface. Withdrawing consent is as simple as giving it and will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal. Please note that disabling the strictly necessary storage described above will prevent you from logging in and using your account.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

EBSC may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on the BridgeBeyond Interface with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the website after such changes signifies acceptance of the updated policy. Where changes materially affect the categories of cookies used or your choices regarding them, we will also prompt you to review your cookie preferences the next time you visit the BridgeBeyond Interface.
